Thank you for choosing Liberty Ridge Farm for your class field trip! Our educational field trips are a three-hour self guided tour; allowing you to spend time at the various activities that most suit your class! We suggest a one chaperone to 5-7 students ratio for your visit. When you arrive at the farm, you will be greeted by our friendly staff in the parking lot. Please try to arrive at the time of your reservation. If bringing a bagged lunch, students should place them in the bin designated for your bus. Your lunches will be brought down to our large event tent in the corn.
Admission payment: Payment is due upon arrival at the farm - head up to our admissions building located in the parking lot. Students and chaperones are $8/person (children 2 and under are free). Paid staff and teachers are free. We accept cash, checks and credit cards- Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Call the Farm at 518-664-1515 if you are using Boces or paying with a school purchase order. After paying for admission you will be free to start your adventure! What to do on your visit:Corn Maze - Stop in at our orientation booth to watch our new video. It will introduce the maze rules and activities which includes the Passport game and Cornundrums.
Pig Races - We have shows daily 11am and 12pm. Make sure to make time for this hilarious show and cheer on your favorite pig! Miss Moo’s Musical Revue - A barn full of animals singing, telling jokes and providing educational programs on farm life. Pumpkin Cannon - Shows provides lesson in potential and kinetic energy while watching a pumpkin sale a quater of a mile. Brad’s Barnyard Adventure - There are many educational activities in the barnyard:
Trolley Ride - Hop onto the trolley, we have stops all around the farm, to take a ride around the grounds and then out to our pumpkin patch where everyone takes home a free pumpkin! Don’t forget to eat lunch! You are welcome to eat at anytime- classes are not required to eat together. Your lunches will be in the large event tent in the corn unless you are told otherwise by a staff member. *Cow train is not open during the weekday for school field trips. Field trip rate is only valid M-F with an arrival before 1pm. Home schools are welcome; parent/teachers are given the chaperone rate.*

Your students will have the chance to learn about corn, pumpkins, and farm animals by adding a lesson plan from below with your field trip to our farm. Grades 1-2. Lesson teaches about pumpkin life cycles. Grades 1-2. Where does your food come from? National Farmers Union Youth Curriculum offers 5 lesson plans about farmers, where our food comes from, farm diversification, and about preserving food. Grades 1-3 Grades 2-4. “just Kid-ing Around”. Lesson plan about Goats. Grades 3-5. All about pollination. Multiple lesson plans available on pollination. Learn about how parts of the flower and how bees pollinate them. Grades 4-5. Lesson plan about Corn. Biology of corn, how to grow it and its history in the United States. h) Grades 4-5. “Miss Moo and You.” Learning about Cows. A great lesson plan to learn about the biology of cows, types of cows and what kinds of food cows produce. Grades 4-5. A harvest lesson plan. “Harvesting the Garden.” How do farmers harvest their crops? How do they earn a profit with their produce? Lesson is taught around pumpkins. Grades 4-5. Learning about Plants. “The Right Plants the Right Place”. Teaches about perennials, annuals, habitat and climate.
