Liberty Ridge Farm Now Booking Educational Field Trips

Groups invited to ‘Vote with their Feet’ in Election 08 Corn Maze

Schaghticoke, NY, August 5, 2008.  Liberty Ridge Farm, an agricultural tourism destination and home of the Election 08 corn maze, is now booking educational field trips for the 2008 season.  Educational Field trips provide entertaining learning excursions on the farm and group discounts for daycare and nursery schools along with school field trips for this fall.

“We welcome groups to enjoy a memorable day of farm fun in a gorgeous rural setting,” said Cynthia Gifford, owner of Liberty Ridge Farm.  “And with this being an important election year, we invite groups to give their children a chance to vote in our Election 08 Corn Maze.”

Each Educational Field Trip includes admission to Election 08 Corn Maze, allowing kids to participate in this year’s Presidential election by ‘voting with their feet’ while learning about the election process.  Team building and problem solving skills are utilized as the groups find their way through the labyrinth of paths that feature the Democrat Donkey, the Republican Elephant, and Uncle Sam. 

A day at Liberty Ridge Farm includes 3 hours of good farmin’ fun with activities in the Barnyard where the Pedal Carts and giant gerbil wheels help kids learn about using human power. A visit to Bee Keeper Tom in the Honey House shows them how honey is made in the bee community.  For the little ones story-time sessions are available at Lil’ Farmersville.  The farm experience is completed with a scenic ride to the pumpkin patch along the banks of the historic Hoosic River in the Liberty Ridge Farm Trolley.

Liberty Ridge Farm is booking Educational Field Trips weekdays starting 9/15/08 and continuing through 10/31/08.  While general admission starts at 10am, group admissions start at 9am Monday through Fridays.  Group discounted admission rates are $8 per person, with teachers and staff admitted free with pre-reservation.  Groups are invited to bring their own lunches, or box lunches can be ordered fresh from the farm kitchen.
