Early Returns Have Democrats Leading in Election '08 Corn Maze
Hold 29 Vote Lead in Liberty Ridge Farm ‘Vote with Your Feet’ Campaign
Schaghticoke, NY, October 1, 2008. Liberty Ridge Farm, home of the Capital Region’s original cornfield maze, has announced an Early Tally in the Election 08 Corn Maze ‘Vote with Your Feet’ campaign. As September ended the Democrats party held a 29 vote lead over the Republicans.
The Election08 12-acre corn maze features the Republican Elephant, the Democrat Donkey, and Troy’s own Uncle Sam inviting all to vote. Every attendee, 4 to 94, are offered the opportunity to ‘vote with your feet’ and cast their ballot while they make their way through a labyrinth of Election themed paths and passageways.
“As of close of business today, we have had 629 ballots cast.” Said Cynthia Gifford, owner of Liberty Ridge Farm. “The democrats have 354 votes with 325 votes for the Republicans.”
Special ‘ballot’ tickets allow every attendee the opportunity to cast a vote for the party of their choice in the Election 08 Corn Maze. Liberty Ridge Farm provides ‘passports’ to help visitors navigate the maze. The Election 08 passports use questions about the election process to guide you through the labyrinth.
“There is still time to ‘Vote with Your Feet’ Gifford noted, “The Liberty Ridge Farm Fall Festival Season with the Election 08 Corn Maze runs through November 2nd, closing just 2 days before the National Election.” Liberty Ridge Farm will post the final vote tally on November 3rd.
Admission to Liberty Ridge Farm and the Election 08 Corn Maze is only $9, Children under 3 free. Friday and Saturday nights in October the Election 08 Corn Maze becomes “A Field of Screams” with Haunted Nights. The Haunted Nights special event admission price is $15.
