Liberty Ridge Farm Announces Election 08 Corn Maze

Young and Old are invited to ‘Vote with Your Feet’ During Fall Festival

Schaghticoke, NY, July 11, 2008.  Liberty Ridge Farm, home of the Capital Region’s original and largest cornfield maze, has announced an Election 08 design theme for its 2008 Corn Maze and Fall Festival season.  The 12 acre corn maze design will feature the Republican Elephant, the Democrat Donkey, and Troy’s own Uncle Sam inviting you to vote.

Every attendee, young and old, will have the opportunity to ‘vote with your feet’ and cast their ballot while they make their way through a labyrinth of Election themed paths and passageways.

“This year’s Election 08 Maze will be the biggest and best maze event ever,” said Cynthia Gifford, owner of Liberty Ridge Farm. “And there are no age requirements to cast your vote in the farm maze.”  Special ‘ballot’ tickets will allow every attendee to cast a vote for the party of their choice in the Election 08 Corn Maze.  Liberty Ridge Farm will post vote tally updates with the ‘Vote with your Feet’ results.

The Liberty Ridge Farm Fall Festival Season with the Election 08 Corn maze begins September 12 and runs through November 2nd, closing just 2 days before the National Election.  Admission to Liberty Ridge Farm and the Election 08 Corn Maze will be only $9, Children under 3 free.  Harvest Haunts special event admission will be $15.  Featured events on the 2008 Liberty Ridge Farm fall festival schedule are:

  • Every Friday and Saturday night in October
  • Spooky corn maze and Forest of Fear
  • New for 2008 the Creepy Fence Maze and  Freaky Barnyard Adventures

The Election 08 Corn Maze is sponsored by media Partners Time Warner News 9, Capital Tonight, and Buzz 105.7.  The maze was planted with corn seed from Pioneer Seed, a DuPont Company, and the maze was cut with a commercial Cub Cadet Tank mower supplied by Salem Farm Supply.  The Fall Weekend Festival Events are sponsored by the Spotlight Newspapers, and Q103 Rock is the media partner for the Harvest Haunts in October.

Liberty Ridge Farm is an agricultural tourism destination and working farm on the historic Hoosic River.  The Gifford Family hosts a Fall Festival featuring the Capital Region’s original and largest cornfield maze, Brad’s Barnyard activities and special events.
