10th Anniversary Season Celebrates NY Discovery with the ExploreNY Corn Maze
Schaghticoke, NY, June 9, 2009. Liberty Ridge Farm, home of the Capital Region’s original and largest cornfield maze, has announced its 2009 Fall Festival of Adventure schedule. It features the ExploreNY Adventure corn maze design, which celebrates the 400th anniversary of the discovery of New York.
As New York commemorates the voyages of Henry Hudson and Samuel de Champlain, the Gifford Family is celebrating its 10th season of family fun and farm adventure. The Gifford Family will be hosting an opening weekend Birthday Extravaganza, Saturday and Sunday, 9/12 and 13, from 1pm till 5pm.
“Every day is an adventure at the Farm,” said Cynthia Gifford, owner of Liberty Ridge Farm. “This year we’re celebrating our 10th season by adding new features and events to make the Farm and Maze even more enjoyable for all our fans.” New this year is the opening weekend celebration, online ticketing, text messaging in the maze, and an animatronic musical revue. The 12 acre maze will feature the image of Henry Hudson’s ship, the Half Moon.
The Liberty Ridge Farm Fall Festival season with the ExploreNY Adventure Corn Maze begins September 12 and runs through November 1st, closing the day after Halloween. Admission to Liberty Ridge Farm, all the mazes and farm activities is only $9.50, Children under 2 free. Haunted Nights special event admission will be $15. The 2009 ExploreNY Adventure Corn Maze is sponsored by media partners Time Warner Capital News 9 and FLY92.3. The maze was planted with corn seed from Pioneer Seed, a DuPont Company, and the maze was cut with a commercial Cub Cadet Tank mower supplied by Salem Farm Supply. Fairfield Inn and Suites has partnered once again with Liberty Ridge Farm together they will be offering vacation packages. Saratoga Water, Snapple, 24C and 7UP sponsor the farm’s Hill Billy Band
