Liberty Ridge Farm, home of the Capital Region’s original and largest cornfield maze, has announced the return of the ‘All About Scouts’ weekend celebration October 2</span><sup><span style="font-size: small;">nd</span></sup><span style="font-size: small;"> and 3</span><sup><span style="font-size: small;">rd</span></sup><span style="font-size: small;">.  All Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Adventure Guides attending will receive special admission rates and a Liberty Ridge Farm “MAiZE” patch.</span></p>
<p>“<span style="font-size: small;">Scouting embraces education through practical outdoor activities,” said Cynthia Gifford, owner of Liberty Ridge Farm. “Our 2010 Gifford Barn Corn maze is a celebration of outdoor fun that embraces the family values of working together, communication, and persistence.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Liberty Ridge Farm is offering exclusive admission discounts to all Scouts, Scout Leaders, and Scout families during the October 2-3 weekend celebration.  With reservations Scouts will receive general admission for $7.50, a $2 discount, and Scout admission to The Harvest Haunted Attraction evening events are only $13.00, a $2.00 savings. Featuring seasonal ‘pick-your-own’ blueberries, raspberries and pumpkins, the Liberty Ridge Farm Market offers a bounty of the freshest local produce from the area’s best farms, as well as a selection of natural decoration items.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Families can bring their own containers or use one of the farms’s to ‘pick-your-own’ fresh grown blueberries by the pound, or buy fresh picked at the Farm Market counter.  In August fresh raspberries will be ready for picking, and in the fall Liberty Ridge Farm offers ‘pick-your-own’ pumpkins with selections from its 14 acres of pumpkin vines.</span></p>

<p>Schaghticoke, NY, July 7, 2009.  Liberty Ridge Farm announced today that it will open a new Farm Market on Friday, July 17th with the beginning of the ‘pick-your-own’ blueberry season and will operate through the end of the local fresh produce season in late October.  The seasonal Liberty Ridge Farm Market will feature the best and freshest locally grown produce from the area’s best farms.</p>
<p>Families can bring their own containers or use one of the farms’s to ‘pick-your-own’ fresh grown blueberries by the pound, or buy fresh picked at the Farm Market counter.  In August fresh raspberries will be ready for picking, and in the fall Liberty Ridge Farm offers ‘pick-you-own’ pumpkins with selections from its 14 acres of pumpkin vines.</p>
<p>“By purchasing local foods in-season your family enjoys the health benefits of eating fresh, unprocessed fruits and vegetables” said Cynthia Gifford, owner of Liberty Ridge Farm, “and your food dollar goes directly to local farmers, supporting local agriculture.”</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Received 59% of Ballots Cast in ‘Vote with Your Feet’ Campaign</strong></p>
<p>Schaghticoke, NY, November 3, 2008.  The Democrats won the Election 08 ‘Vote with Your Feet’ campaign by a wide margin, Liberty Ridge Farm announced today.  The final tally, counted yesterday as the Liberty Ridge Farm Fall Festival Season concluded, found the Democrats had received 59% of the 3257 total ballots cast.</p>
<p>The final ballot count found 1908 in the Democrats milk can, and 1349 ballots in the Republican milk can.  The Capital Regions original corn maze, The Election 08 12-acre maze featured the Republican Elephant, the Democrat Donkey, and Troy’s own Uncle Sam inviting all to vote.  Every attendee, 4 to 94, were offered the opportunity to ‘vote with your feet’ and cast their ballot while making their way through the labyrinth of Election themed paths and passageways.</p>
<p>Special ‘ballot’ tickets provided every attendee the opportunity to cast a vote for the party of their choice in the Election 08 Corn Maze.  Liberty Ridge Farm provided ‘passports’ to help visitors navigate the maze with questions based on the election process.</p>
<p>“The Election 08 Corn Maze generated a lot of excitement, and we had a great turnout for this year’s Fall Festival of events.” said Cynthia Gifford, owner of Liberty Ridge Farm.  “I want to thank all who helped make the Election 08 Corn Maze possible.”  Gifford extended thanks and recognition to media partners Time Warner News 9, Capital Tonight, and Buzz 105.7, to Pioneer Seed, a DuPont Company, for the corn seed used in the maze, and to Salem Farm Supply for use of a commercial Cub Cadet Tank mower to cut the maze.  Special thanks were extended to the Liberty Ridge Farm staff and to the Rensselaer County League of Women Voters for providing election process information used in the Maze Passport.</p>

<p class="style6">Schaghticoke, NY, October 14, 2008.  Liberty Ridge Farm, home of the Election 08 Corn Maze, will be hosting Pumpkin Fest this Saturday and Sunday, October 18th -  19th from 1:00P.M.to 7:00P.M.  Pumpkin Fest is a celebration of the 2008 pumpkin harvest with pumpkin carving displays, lessons, jack-o-lantern contests, and more!</p>
<p class="style6">There will be pumpkins galore at Liberty Ridge Farm with the 1st Annual Pumpkin Glow, a display of lighted jack-o-lanterns as the sun sets.  Everyone is invited to carve their own jack-o-lantern to enter in the Pumpkin Glow.  There will be carving contests, Bobbing for Donuts, and a pumpkin pie eating contest.  The farm Face Painter will be there as will Farmer Bruce, strolling the grounds making balloon art, cracking jokes and doing magic tricks.  In addition to pumpkin pies, the Gifford Barn will be serving pumpkin soup and pumpkin donuts.</p>
<p class="style6">Brian Bateman, the area&#8217;s finest pumpkin carving artist will be on hand all weekend carving a giant pumpkin into a special work of art.  Beautiful hand-carved pumpkins created by Brian Bateman will be up for sale during the entire month of October.</p>
<p class="style6">“Pumpkin Fest is a great way to get that special Jack-o-lantern for Halloween,” said Owner Cynthia Gifford, “and it’s not too late to Vote with your Feet in our Election 08 Corn Maze.”</p>

<p class="style6">Schaghticoke, NY, October 7, 2008.  Liberty Ridge Farm, home of the Election 08 Corn Maze, is inviting family teams to compete in the 2008 Family Farm Olympics this Columbus Day Weekend.  A full slate of old fashioned games and competitions will be held over the three day holiday, with every competitor winning a medal.  The Family Farm Olympics will benefit local Special Olympics programs, with a percentage of every paid admission during the weekend being donated to Special Olympics New York, who will be on hand with information about the organization, the events, and the athletes.</p>
<p class="style6">An Opening Ceremony Parade, farm style at 1pm will kick-off each day’s events, starting an afternoon of Family Farm races, relays and games.  Participants young and old are invited to compete in 3-legged Races, Potato Sack Races, the Farmer Dress Relay, the Egg &amp; Spoon Relay and the Lemon Derby.  Each event ends with an Olympic Awards Ceremony, where all competitors receive a medal while standing on the Liberty Ridge Farm Olympic Award Podium.  Photography and cheering is encouraged.</p>
<p class="style6">“With 2008 being an Olympic year, we are pleased to be supporting the local athletes and programs of the Special Olympics,” said Cynthia Gifford of Liberty Ridge Farm,  “for every paid admission this weekend Liberty Ridge Farm will donate 50 cents to Special Olympics New York.”</p>
<p class="style6">Throughout the weekend the Family Farm Olympics festivities include specialty foods, face painting and the balloon artistry, tricks and jokes of Farmer Bruce.  All are invited to create a scarecrow along the Scarecrow Row.  The Family Farm Olympics will be from 1:00P.M. – 5:00 P.M Saturday, Sunday and Monday, October 11th &#8211; 13th.  Admission is only $9 per person, with children 3 and under free.</p>
