The Classroom Enrichment Program provides newspapers and other learning tools to teachers and students throughout the Capital Region, helping them to reach New York State learning standards. Last year, we worked with nearly 500 local teachers in 282 schools, reaching over 30,000 students each week. And, thanks to our sponsors, we were able to provide these learning tools at no cost.

Looking for an outdoor learning adventure for your students this fall?

Liberty Ridge Farm offers a 3 hour self guided tour to school groups, daycares, special education, nursery and preschools at a discounted special group rate. Our program is designed to align with New York State curriculum guidelines and gives kids an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and have fun too.

Our real, working farm provides the right setting for both children and adults to have a day of fun and adventure while learning about agriculture.

A field trip to Liberty Ridge Farm features:

• Developing team-building and problem-solving skills as your class navigates their way through the Capital Region’s original corn maze
• New for 2010 - Miss Moo’s Musical Revue that educates, entertains and invites audience participation
• New for 2010 - Pumpkin Cannon show provides lesson in potential and kinetic energy while watching a pumpkin sail a quarter of a mile
•  “The Bee Barn”, houses a real live bee display and flat screen video that teaches students about pollination and shows them how honey is made
• Giant Gerbil Wheels, Pedal Carts and more– located in Brad’s Barnyard, where children learn the power of their own energy and get great exercise
• A scenic and relaxing trolley ride along the Hoosic River to the pumpkin patch where everyone takes a pumpkin home
• Lil’ Farmersville, an area designed to be developmentally appropriate for children 6 and under
• Interact with our farm animals- wander through the western style “Rabbit Town”, see chickens nesting & roosting, and make sure to feed our donkeys, llamas, goats and sheep!
• Our enhanced Educational Center in Camp Celebration features a hands on activity in each of the 4 themed cottages
  - Heritage Cottage celebrates the importance of farm life and its history
  - Animal Cottage celebrates the many different animals on the farm
  - Garden Cottage celebrates the life cycle of crops grown on the farm
  - Orchard Cottage celebrates the many trees vital to a farm

A Liberty Ridge Farm field trip is available for $8.00 per student. Faculty and school staff are admitted free. Additional chaperones are charged at the student rate.  You’re welcome to bring your own lunch, or order ahead and we’ll make it for you.
